After releasing the soundtrack, Vedder felt inspired to set off on a journey of his own: he is now touring as a solo artist for the first time in his career. He performed on the West Coast in April, and has shows lined up for the East Coast, the Midwest and Canada this month. Monday's show opened a two-night stand at the 3,300-capacity United Palace Theater, and he will also present a sold-out show at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center in Newark
lululemon, tonight.
He's not exactly roughing it, though. A series of elaborate backdrops -- urban rooftops, a sunny seascape -- added atmosphere

clarisonic mia, oddly dressed in white lab coats, scurried around the stage, supplying Vedder with enough different guitars to teach a music class. Vedder also played mandolin, ukulele and harmonica at times, and looped his vocals on the song "Arc," creating a resonant, multi-layered mix.
Opening act Liam Finn (son of Crowded House's Neil Finn) played guitar and sang high harmonies on one "Into the Wild" song, "Society." Finn played drums on another, "Hard Sun," with his musical partner, Eliza-Jane Barnes, helping out on vocals and percussion, and an onstage reel-to-reel tape player filling out the sound

When not singing the "Into the Wild" material, Vedder dipped into the Pearl Jam catalog ("Around the Bend," "I Am Mine," "Porch
vivienne westwood," "Wishlist"

and covered songs by the Beatles ("You've Got to Hide Your Love Away"

, Bob Dylan ("Masters of War"

, James Taylor ("Millworker"

, Pete Townshend ("Let My Love Open the Door"

, Cat Stevens ("Trouble"

and Daniel Johnston ("Walking the Cow"
ヴィトン 財布. For comic relief, he played bits of the risque novelty song "I Used To Work In Chicago" and the theme song of the 2007 rock-biopic satire, "Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story."
While the show was heavier on pensive, atmospheric ballads than a Pearl Jam concert would be, Vedder did rock out at times
clarisonic mia, strumming hard or stomping his foot for percussive emphasis on songs like "Sometimes," "Wishlist" and "Porch."
Overall, though, the vibe was casual
lululemon.
Vedder opened with the dreamy "Walking the Cow," murmuring lines like "Tried to point my finger/But the wind keeps blowin' me around

Between numbers
chan luu, he chatted about his first visit to New York, many years ago, and the beauty of the United Palace Theatre, a grand old vaudeville/movie house in Washington Heights. Neil Young, who played there last year, recommended it to him. He let fans know that he's going through a cold-turkey withdrawal from pain medication, and spoke warmly about his friendship with Tomas Young, the paralyzed war veteran who was the subject of the 2007 documentary, "Body of War."
He performed a seething version of Bob Dylan's anti-war anthem
lululemon, "Masters of War," after someone in the audience requested it. "This is what is going through my head every day, every second," he said. It segued nicely into his own similarly intentioned "No More."
He backed himself on the sad "Goodbye" with his ukulele, which he conceded is usually a happy-sounding instrument
clarisonic mia. But he wrote the song while going through a rough time in his personal life, and dragged the instrument down with him ("You're coming with me!"

, he said.
Among the show's more upbeat moments was the last encore, "Hard Sun," with its full sound, its anthemic chorus ("There's a big hard sun/Beating on the big people/In the big hard world"

, and the sight of Vedder bouncing around the stage, clapping. State Police class most racially diverse in state history, attorney general says.
