Indiana Senate 2010 Election BREAKING News

INDIANAPOLIS (AP)- Voters in North Carolina and Ohio kept their incumbents and those in Indiana turned to an old Capitol Hill hand -- Republican Dan Coats -- in Tuesday's primaries despite the nation's bottom-barrel support for Congress and frustration with the Washington establishment.
This fall, Coats -- who was recruited by the National Republican Senatorial Committee -- will face Democrat Brad Ellsworth, whose nomination is assured. The candidates are seeking the seat held by retiring Democratic Sen. ambassador to Germany under President George W
tom shoes. Bush. He overcame spirited challenges from four
Pandora Charms, including state Sen. Marlin Stutzman, a tea party favorite who was endorsed by South Carolina Sen
clarisonic mia. Jim DeMint, and former Rep. John Hostettler, who had the support of one-time presidential candidate Rep. Ron Paul, R-Texas.
Democrats quickly piled on, calling Coats a "deeply flawed candidate" and casting him as a Washington insider beholden to special interests.

The fact that an African-American male named Obama won this state was very significant and one of the proudest days of this proud Hoosiers life. However, keep up the fight my friend

What the nomination of Coats reveals is that the Republicans have nothing new to offer. Taking into consideration he has said several times he prefers life in another state I believe that the people of Indiana will tell this tired, awful re-tread to return to that preferred state this fall. Another thing is the Tea Baggers didn't win squat in this state and stuck with the equally tired and highly unbalanced Dan Burton in the heavily Puggie 5th district. More than likely this fall Indiana will vote as it has always voted: Purple.
It amazes me after 8 years of W and 17 months of this president and the behavior the Republicans have practiced for the world, that people want to go back to that. How stupid is that and how non visionary can you be
hermes belt. Well welcome to that world somemore Indiana. Stupid is and stupid does.
I'll tell you what . the anti-incumbent, anti Washington crowd failed to dislodge one yesterday in a race that didn't even include any "meddling" from liberals and moderates. Coats might as well be an incumbent and he's certainly a "Washington type." He's been here before. He left serving, citing the fact that he didn't like the fundraising aspect, AND THEN moved to DC to become . wait for it . a LOBBYIST. Just a couple of years ago he was talking about retiring in North Carolina and now, all of a sudden, he's back in Indiana. If the TeaParty had the power to dislodge incumbents and get rid of Washington insiders why didn't they flex it yesterday? Did they not have as much as they thought? Did they not recognize who Coats was
vanessa bruno? Did they just not care? Or, as I suspect, it's not about populism and anti-Washington; it's more about anti-Democrat

Agreed. Let's not forget, it is also about anti-Obama. Otherwise, you would not have the signs depicting him as Hitler or the Joker or about him being socialist and the classic "Keep your Government Hands off My Medicare". Underinformed people revved up by Fox News, drunk on anger with no solutions
hermes belt, just sloganeering complaints. Any news media who try to interview these people about details end up getting talking points. When pressed, the talking points are expressed more loudly. It reminds me of watching Americans trying to converse with people who speak a different language. They say what they want to convey. The person clearly does not understand, so, they simply repeat what they said slower and louder.
The country is furious at incumbents and there will be a huge backlash against them. --- Incumbents won across the board. Some ran unopposed
pandora rings. No new faces. The new face in Indiana is an old former incumbent.
The Tea Party will dramatically affect the elections. --- Tea Party candidates were trounced.
The Tea Party is non-partisan. It is angry at BOTH sides --- Tea Party votes that did not go to their losing candidates went to Republicans. Read the Tea Party commentors here and elsewhere. It is simply anti-Democratic rhetoric or anti-Obama rhetoric. Tea partiers are Republican voters, regardless of their registration.
As usual, primaries can be confusing predictors. BUT, what we can tell is that the Tea Party movement is not the huge uprising it is purported to be nationwide. Maybe in some states, but not Indiana, North Carolina and Ohio. We also know that Democrats, especially young voters, are not awakened as a voting bloc as they were in 2008
